Today marks the International Day of Charity a global observance dedicated to the promotion of charitable efforts aimed at alleviating poverty and suffering worldwide. The date commemorates the anniversary of the passing of Mother Teresa, who was renowned for her charitable work and her unwavering commitment to helping those in need. 

‘Almighty God on this International Day of Charity, we pray for the millions less fortunate than ourselves. We know that we cannot change the world alone, yet we know also that, with your help nothing is impossible. Challenge us to give sacrificially, live more simply and to work for change. Help us to remember those in need, both in our prayers and in our actions so that we might truly make a difference.’
