Around the world there is great conflict and little peace.

Matthew 5:9 reminds us that: Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Easy to read, but not easy to apply.

If ever there was a time to pray for peace in our world it is now. We must trust in God and support those who work for peace.

Perhaps we can share the following prayer, largely from The Church of England Prayer and Worship website:

O God of all hope and peace, we bring to you the needs of our broken and hurting world.
We pray for an end to violence and warfare so that the challenging work of rebuilding may begin.
Help us, O Lord, to affirm our common humanity so that in our differences we may build together for justice and peace.
In Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Amen.
